Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Ceren Yeşilkaya graduated from Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine in 2011. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Beyoğlu Eye Training and Research Hospital in 2017 and went on to focus on cataract, cornea and refractive surgery.
She did her compulsory service at Adıyaman Gölbaşı State Hospital from 2017 to 2020, performing close to a thousand cataract operations along with eyelid, tear duct and strabismus surgery. From 2021 to 2024 she ran the Cornea and Anterior Segment and the Oculoplastics units at Şişli Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital, worked as the physician responsible for corneal transplants and taught cataract surgery to residents.

Visual acuity, eye pressure and a slit-lamp examination. If laser, ICL or cataract surgery is being considered, corneal topography, corneal thickness and biometry are added.
We go through the results together and discuss the suitable method, its alternatives and its risks. Surgery is not suggested when it isn't needed.

Your doctor sets the check-up schedule according to the type of surgery and how your eye is doing.
If you wear contact lenses, you need to leave them out for a while before laser or ICL measurements. Lenses temporarily change the shape of the cornea and skew the results. Ask how many days in advance when you book.
