Treatments
Cornea, lens and
eyelid surgery.
The treatments Dr. Yeşilkaya provides at Medicana Zincirlikuyu, in five groups. Each page explains the method, the measurements taken at examination and what to watch for after surgery.
Refractive surgery
Refractive Surgery
PRK, No-Touch, LASIK and SMILE Pro for short-sightedness, long-sightedness and astigmatism. A phakic lens (ICL) when the cornea is not suitable for laser.
- PRK and No-Touch (surface laser)
- LASIK and SMILE Pro
- Phakic lens (ICL) for thin corneas
-
Laser Eye Surgery (PRK, LASIK, SMILE)
How PRK, No-Touch, LASIK and SMILE Pro differ, which corneal measurements decide whether you are a candidate, and how to look after your eyes afterwards.
View -
Phakic Lens (ICL)
How an ICL corrects vision in eyes unsuitable for laser because of a thin cornea or high prescription, the measurements it needs and how to look after your eye afterwards.
View
Cataract
Cataract and Lens Surgery
The clouded natural lens is removed and replaced with an artificial one. Monofocal, toric, multifocal, trifocal and EDOF lenses are chosen based on measurements.
-
Cataract Surgery
How cataract surgery works: the measurements taken beforehand, phaco step by step, lens choice, aftercare and YAG laser for later haze.
View -
Multifocal, Trifocal and EDOF Lenses
How monofocal, multifocal, trifocal, EDOF and toric lenses differ, how the right lens is chosen, and refractive lens exchange for eyes without cataract.

Cornea
Corneal Diseases
Cross-linking and specialty lenses for keratoconus, corneal transplants for advanced disease, and pterygium surgery. From 2021 to 2024 Dr. Yeşilkaya was the physician responsible for corneal transplants at Şişli Hamidiye Etfal.
-
Keratoconus Treatment
Keratoconus usually starts in the teenage years. Topography follow-up, corneal cross-linking (CXL), rigid and scleral lenses, rings and transplant.
View -
Corneal Transplant
When a corneal transplant is needed: full-thickness (PK) versus layered grafts (DALK, DMEK/DSAEK), the eye bank, rejection signs and long follow-up.
View -
Pterygium Surgery
Pterygium surgery removes tissue growing onto the cornea and covers the area with a graft of your own conjunctiva to lower the chance of regrowth.
View
Oculoplastics
Eyelids and Tear Ducts
Upper and lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), drooping eyelids and blocked tear ducts that cause constant watering.
-
Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
Blepharoplasty removes excess skin and fat from the eyelids. When drooping skin narrows your field of vision, the operation also has a functional purpose.
View -
Blocked Tear Duct Surgery
A blocked tear duct causes watering and discharge. Babies are treated with massage and probing; adults may need DCR surgery to create a new drainage route.
View
Ocular surface
Ocular Surface and Contact Lenses
Dry eye treatment and contact lens fitting, including rigid and scleral lenses for keratoconus.
-
Dry Eye Treatment
Causes of dry eye, the tear tests done at examination, choosing artificial tears, lid hygiene, punctal plugs and dry eye checks before laser surgery.
View -
Contact Lens Fitting
Soft, toric, multifocal, rigid gas permeable and scleral lenses, lens options for keratoconus, lens hygiene and the warning signs of infection.

Method
Measure first.
Then decide.
- 1
Listen and measure
We talk through your complaint and expectations. Visual acuity, corneal topography, corneal thickness and, when needed, biometry are measured.
- 2
Explain the options
Not every eye suits surgery, and not every complaint needs it. Monitoring, drops, lenses and surgery are explained with their pros and cons.
- 3
Plan and follow up
If surgery is chosen, the date, preparation and check-up schedule are set together.
The first step is an examination.
Fill in the form or message us on WhatsApp. Examinations take place at Medicana Zincirlikuyu Hospital in Esentepe.
